Democrats Dont Want To Give Emergency Relief Checks To Americans
ust when it looked as if the Democrats would suspend their war on America in a time of national crisis, they are back to their usual tricks.
In what has to be one of the most disgusting examples of how a once respectable albeit wrongheaded political party has been poisoned by partisanship, Dems are resisting the economic stimulus proposed by President Trump.
With markets in freefall, restaurants and other businesses forced to close and millions of Americans in serious pain and despair over the coronavirus, Chuck and Nancy are now engaged in hostage taking.
The congressional Democrat resistance is balking at sending out $1200 checks to help Americans mitigate the economic damage by playing politics.

Via The Hill, “Democrats balk at $1,200 rebate checks in stimulus plan”:
Senate Republican and Democratic negotiators are battling over a central component of President Trump’s stimulus plan: sending out hundreds of billions of dollars in rebate checks to middle-income Americans.
Senate GOP negotiators argue that $1,200 direct payments to individuals are the best way to get money flowing through the economy quickly, while Democrats say disbursing cash benefits so broadly doesn’t do enough for low-income Americans and people who lose their jobs.
Senate Democratic Leader Charles Schumer (N.Y.) on Friday said Congress should pass a massive expansion of unemployment benefits instead of simply doling out checks to individuals and families, regardless of whether they miss work because of health quarantines.
“There are many, many who have lost their jobs and one check when they may be out of their jobs for three, four, five months isn’t going to be enough. Unemployment insurance gives money the whole period of time the crisis exists at your present salary level and covers just about everyone,” Schumer said.
The Schumer-led Senate resistance comes days after House Dems held a call where the Rahm Emanuel maxim of never letting a good crisis ‘go to waste’ was implemented to exploit the crisis in order to fill relief bills with unrelated liberal pork.

According to one report, one of those flexing his muscles to exploit the crisis was South Carolina kingmaker James Clyburn who stated:
“This is a tremendous opportunity to restructure things to fit our vision”

Sorry, come again?
Via The Hill, “House Democrats eyeing much broader Phase 3 stimulus”:
House Democrats are indicating they want to go bigger and broader than the already massive economic stimulus package offered by Senate Republicans to blunt the coronavirus pandemic.
On a Thursday conference call featuring more than 200 members of the House Democratic caucus, lawmakers one by one laid out a sweeping wish list of provisions they want to see included in the nascent package, including a boost in infrastructure spending, an expansion of Social Security benefits and funding for states to set up an all-mail voting system in the event the pandemic extends into November’s elections.
“This is a tremendous opportunity to restructure things to fit our vision,” Majority Whip James Clyburn (D-S.C.) told lawmakers, according to a source on the call.
The Senate will meet on Saturday to continue haggling over the structure of the stimulus package and the eyes of America will be on Schumer and millions of voters will never forgive the Dems if they screw them over this time.
