According to a new report from the New York Times, former President Barack Obama is pissed off that President Donald Trump keeps calling the China originated Coronavirus the “China Virus” and “Kung Flu.”

The comments came during a private virtual fundraiser with former Vice President and 2020 Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden.

“I don’t want a country in which the president of the United States is actively trying to promote anti-Asian sentiment and thinks it’s funny. I don’t want that. That still shocks and pisses me off,” Obama said in the report.

Check out what the Daily Caller reported:

The president faced criticism for referring to the coronavirus as the “kung flu” at a recent campaign rally in Tulsa, Oklahoma. White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany defended Trump’s comments at a press conference earlier in June, saying the president was trying to draw attention to China’s role in spreading the virus.

“It’s a fair thing to point out as China tries to ridiculously rewrite history, ridiculously blame the coronavirus on American soldiers. This is what China is trying to do. President Trump is saying no,” she said at the time.

A survey conducted by The Harris Poll in early April found that more than 50% of Americans either somewhat or strongly agree with Trump referring to the coronavirus as the “Chinese virus.”

Obama officially started fundraising for Biden last week after staying out of the Democratic primary race.

The Daily Wire reported: “Biden had an excellent May, raising an astounding $80 million — slightly more than Trump and the Republican National Committee raised in the same time period — but still lags far behind in overall cash on hand. The Trump war chest is well into the hundreds of millions and both Biden and the Democratic National Committee have ground to make up.”

Last Tuesday, the former President hosted his first in-person fundraiser for Biden.

“The small-dollar fundraiser Tuesday night will be held online and offers a fresh test of Obama’s ability to transfer his popularity to Biden, his former vice president who is now seeking the White House on his own,” reported Politico on Tuesday. “It’s a kickoff of what Obama’s team says will likely be a busy schedule heading into the fall, as he looks to help elect not just Biden but Democrats running for House and Senate.”

Obama’s goal is to motivate his own voters who voted for him in 2008 and 2012 to come out and support Biden in the upcoming presidential election.

“There are two groups of voters that Biden needs to move,” said former White House communications director for Obama, Dan Pfeiffer. “You have the 4 million Obama 2012 voters that sat out in ’16, Obama obviously has cache with them. And you have to persuade some number of voters who voted for Barack Obama in 2012 and either Trump or a third-party candidate in 2016, and Obama obviously is very, very high-performing with those as well.”
